The men who had great wisdom in our family had died. The churches that I was apart of, I found only who was like a father to and he actually did pour into my life. He was a great man and a true man of God. I learned so much from him in those years that I was always around him. He really was like a father to me and he was also my pastor. I believe that you are that kind of man that can really make a difference in my life and you already have. Your teachings and words seem to reach where I have talked to the Lord and have received an answer. I believe that I will continue to learn from as long as I listen to what the Spirit is saying. He always has something to say through you that continues to give me courage and strength to continue. Thank you for listening to God and imparting those things into my life. You will never know how much you have helped me. I used to feel as though that person did not understand my situation or my capabilities. Thank God I have learned! I have never forgotten the lessons I learned from her and other wise mentors over the years, including Dr. Brown. Another gift of a spirit-led mentor is the ability to confirm what you "feel" God is leading you to do. When God sends you the same message through multiple sources - you know the path He has for you. I can speak for myself, I got a lot to learn and bring through for myself. Ever since I change my life to follow Christ the journey has not been easy. It’s been difficult and different from the world I was in. Now I can say my life is uncommon and is hard to just get advice from anyone. I do seek guidance and help from elders at the church, but I must stop being so close in order for this people to pour into me. I know I need it in order for me to continue to grow and not fall from the tree my branch is placed in it. It easy to be misguided from fake people in this world now in days and I must become wiser, my kids need it and I do too. Dr. Brown you bring a good point in this post.
