Psychologists claim that the number one problem that people experience constant confrontation with is how they think of themselves.
Are people actually wrestling with the concept of understanding themselves? To say the least, generally people illustrate the level of their self-esteem by how much they attempt to change the outward appearance rather then focusing on their inner self. How you feel about yourself is 20% exterior and 80% interior.
A person’s house can look immaculate on the outside, but unfortunately, people do not live outside of their homes. Feeling good about yourself begins with how you feel internally. If you place all your stock on your exterior, your self-esteem is actually unhealthy. What if you:
- gained 50 pounds
- engaged an on-coming vehicle while driving your car and your face was severely scarred
- your health quickly deteriorated leaving you physically incapacitated
Since how you feel about yourself is mainly based on your physical appearance, if any of these three things occurred it would drive your self-esteem in the basement.
Doing well in life and making the kind of money you would really like to make is directly linked to how you feel about yourself. You can improve your environment if you improve your self-esteem. Never underestimate the power of a healthy self-esteem.
Being positive about life, your future, and your potential is all the reason why you should feel good about yourself. Your past may be tainted, but your future is spotless!

I fully see why and how your self esteem is very important. Recently my golf client has another agent throwing money at him. I can not compete financially but I will not let that determine my worth. God is awesome, everything that I told my client this person would do they have done. Mind you this is usually within a 24 hr period. My ability to match dollars will manifest itself as long as I continue to push. Godly insight is already there and my self esteem is not only because of how I look, yes I look good, but how God continues to minister to me. Psalms 27:1-2 I read these and the junk hit the fan, but whom should I fear? Whom should I be afraid of? No one. Why? Because my self esteem is strengthened by my Godly esteem.
I am a person who battled low self-esteem most of my life. I never seen myself like Christ seen me until I had almost totally destroyed my life. I thought I had to have people confirm who I was and how I was……But thank the Lord for his word and him speaking directly into my ear and telling me I was pretty or that I could do all things through him. The Lord confirmed who I was then and he confirms who I am today. Now don’t get me wrong sometimes the enemy tries to bombard my mind with things that are true by fact but not true by God standards, I mean I have gained a significant amount of weight due to pregnancy later in life and injury, and everytime I get in the mirror I see the weight, but the Lord says I have created you marvelous in my eyes and then the thought of me being fat and unactractive is gone. I thank the Lord that he is my confirmer and that he created me wonderful and magnificient, forget what I say about myself or even anyone else I am gorgeous because I am his.
This blog really spoke to my heart because self-esteem has always been an area that I have struggled with. I can relate to the outward being 20% but I feel somewhat different than others because, while I have always felt pretty on the outside, I have never felt like I had any internal worth. So, I have often wished and tried to demean my outward appearance with the hope of finding some internal worth. God is not done with me and as God continuously pours into me I find myself loving more and more the person he created.
I have come to realize over the years the importance of a healthy self-esteem and more importantly a healthy God-esteem. Now after becoming an adult I have realized that God has given me the ability to use my talents and abilities to create the wealth he has destined me to enjoy in this earth. I completed a degree 5 years ago but didn’t trust I could do what I really wanted to do. Now I am ready to go back and utilize what God has put inside of me and know that I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. He created me just the way I am to fulfill His purpose for my life and now I embrace it completely. Praise God for the man of God, Dr. Brown, for being the vessel God has used to implant God’s word in my heart to stay encouraged and to fight and fulfill my purpose in God’s Kingdom.
