Are You Dreaming?

A Man Dreaming

A Man Dreaming

What does your dream of life look like? Do you dream of living the good life; a successful business, traveling the world, a custom built home with several vacation homes around the nation and no financial worries? Of course, those living on the edge of ‘barely making it’ would love to have the money to live better and more productive lives. Unfortunately, dreaming about your future does not make your future better.

Having a dream very seldom gives the details of how to make that dream a reality. The dream is usually the finished product and it does not give meticulous details of what it takes to accomplish your goal. My friend, the details of a dream are figured out after you have awakened from your slumber and drooling. Dreaming is easy and it takes no effort at all, but making the dream a reality is laborious.

Most people would love nothing more than to see their dream come to fruition, however, if it takes blood, sweat, and tears to see it happen, it may be too much of a price to pay. People generally have a fear of the unknown and therefore, the challenge is a major disturbance for them. I personally know what fear feels like and how it looks. Fear is a monster of the worst kind because it is conjured up in a person’s mind. Fear leaves you with feelings of regret, guilt and unfulfillment.

The number one obstacle to achieving one’s dream is fear. No one coined the phrase for the acronym for fear better than Zig Ziglar who said, “FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real.” A person must push his or herself beyond their fear and replace that fear with confidence. Build a defense against discouragement with self-assurance and strength of will. Caution should have no precedence if precaution was considered. To continue to cross the ‘t’ you already crossed, and dot the ‘i’ you already dotted, is simply fear in motion. Step out and believe you can do it.

The man who believes he can and the one who believes he can’t are both right.

~ Henry Ford

If you continue to allow fear to dictate and forecast your disaster then your false evidence will appear real to you.

This is some really great stuff. I’m beginning to visualize the hard work part rather than the dream part. I’ve become lot more productive once I’ve started thinking this way. Really like the posts on your blog.
