Challenges, struggles, and opposition are all a part of life’s journey. These ground-rule elements are not to be looked upon as evil attempts to derail a person off life’s track, but to aid in the development of every person. It is simply a part of life to face such worthy contenders.

As a result, maturity, character and confidence are developed when perseverance is put into action, so that balance can be achieved. In order to experience success in life or business, a person must engage two enemies called resistance and stoppages; which are designed to gauge your weaknesses and strengths.

Settling into your comfort zone may be tempting, but it will not put you on the track to success. Growing personally and professionally requires you to reinforce your ability to fight through your feelings of fear and disappointment.

Because the world is changing at a rapid and accelerating pace, those who are unwilling or unable to take risks and overcome challenges will become ineffective, if not obsolete. People who consistently perform at higher levels have certain things in common: They are:

  • committed to their success
  • they have a passion for their profession
  • they have clear-cut goals

They are comfortable taking well-reasoned risks. Their ability to take thoughtful risks is an important ingredient in their success. It is also a significant determinant in their level of achievement.

Top performers are talented and persistent risk-takers. They are not intimidated about being confrontational. Develop a fighting spirit for the things that you firmly believe. Only then will you understand why I would rather fight than switch.
